Emmanuel was born on February 18, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Rosie Rice and George Lee Davis and step-mother Laura Davis. He was the fourth of eight children. Emmanuel passed away on July 3, 2019, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was 57 years old when he was called home.
Emmanuel professed his faith and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a dedicated husband and father, and his love and influence continue to be felt by his family and friends after his passing. His passing is not the end but the beginning of everlasting life.
Emmanuel attended McKinley High School and O’Fallon Tech where he graduated in 1980. In the Fall of 1980, he joined the Air Force where served over 20 years. Following a distinguished military career, he began a career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 17 years until his passing.
After retiring from the Air Force, Emmanuel met Tracy, who was the love of his life. They married on November 16, 2002, and were lovingly married for 16 years. Their union created a blended family of four daughters and one son.
Emmanuel was known for many things. He loved sports as a player and a fan. He was an avid bowler, who played in many local bowling leagues and various out-of-town tournaments. He enjoyed time with family and friends while bowling, was competitive and won numerous rings. He was also a very big fan of Dallas Cowboys football, which showed through his love of the “navy blue and silver.” Emmanuel was also fond of barbequing. His skills were on display often, as he would volunteer or be asked to deep fry turkeys or barbeque for Thanksgiving and other special occasions.
Emmanuel leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Tracy Davis; siblings Anne Smart of Mississippi, Dianna (Tyrone) Halk of Missouri, George (Tammy) Davis of Missouri, Stanley (Edna) Davis of Missouri, Robert Justin Davis of Missouri, Germaine (Kim) Davis of Louisiana, Derrick (Julia) Davis of Louisiana; five children Shanta (Reggie) Davis, Darron Bailey, Jasmine (Denzell) Vance, Sierra Davis, and Krystal (Alex, Sr.) McCain of Missouri; two aunts Eola Mayfield and Estelle Williams and one uncle Tommy Davis of Illinois; and six grandchildren, Adeja, Jayce, Dimitri, Ryant, Alex Jr., and RyLeigh; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives, extended family members, and friends.
