On Wednesday September 18, 2019 Our Beloved husband, father, uncle, cousin and friend fulfilled his purpose here and entered into external rest at his home in St. Louis, Missouri Mr. Essic Griffin was born December 18, 1937 in Houston, Mississippi. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He attended Houston Colored High School for many years. He left Houston, Mississippi with his cousin Mr. Henry Shaw by train with a couple friends with the intentions of moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsis To live with relatives. They stopped in St. Louis, Missouri with their friends and made St. Louis their home. He was a construction worker, truck driver, and self employed automobile mechanic for many years. He was known for his knowledge and ability to fix almost anything he tackled. He enjoyed teaching the younger fellas how to repair their automobile.
Essic met his wife Mildred on a blind date that was set up by her friend and his friend, They fell in love and was married for 54years. He enjoyed fishing , traveling and hanging out with his buddies. He enjoyed life to the fullest his way.
Essic was preceded in death by grandmother Angeline, mother Ethel Griffin, father Robert Willis and Sister Ruby Gunn, Sons Essic Jr. and Charles, Daughter Jackie and grandson Aaron.
He leaves to cherish the many memories his loving wife Mildred Griffin. His children Debra , Garry, Jeffrey (Patrice), Darrell (Rita), Eric (Sherita), Michael (Simone). 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. We will miss him, love him, and forever have him in our mind and heart.
