Robert Lee Williams was born on February 12,1943 in Detroit, Michigan. He was born to his loving parents Jessie Williams and Jamie Alberta Ramsey. Robert was the fourth child of eight children, Jessie Mae, Lizerene, Julius, Robert, Jessie, Ernest, Nathaniel, and Henry. He had a special cousin that was raised with him as well, named Lula Mae Cunningham.
Robert attended Northwestern High School and graduated in 1963. He loved playing golf, fishing, and listening to jazz. He worked for Ford Motor company and retired in 1974. Robert later began a career as a guidance counselor for recovering addicts. He was the founder of The Salisbury Club where he hosted activities and meetings for recovering addicts and had 40 years of sobriety himself. Robert was a member of the Masonic Order, Lone Star Lodge #2. He was also a member of New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board.Preceded in death are his mother Alberta Ramsey, father Jessie Williams, two sisters, Jessie Mae, and Lizerene, and three brothers Julius, Ernest, and Nathaniel. Robert leaves to cherish in memory his two brothers Jessie, and Henry Williams, special niece Alberta Williams, five children Andre Williams, Heavenly (Kevin) Zachery, DeShon Felton, Amica (Terrell) Banks, Sophia (Thomas) Chatman, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
