Virgil Lee was born on October 8, 1934 in Maghee, Arkansas to the late Ernestine Johnson. Virgil moved with his mother to St. Louis during his childhood.
Virgil attended St. Louis Public Schools, graduating from Vashon High School.where he met and would later marry Vincietia Frances (Taylor) Wilson.
Virgil served honorably in the Air Force and is a proud Korean War Veteran. After his service he worked for the Department of Defense as a computer analyst until his retirement. During this time he and Vincietia traveled and lived on three continents and at least three states. After retiring from the federal government, he went to work at the State of Missouri. He retired for a final time and lived out the rest of his life in St. Louis. Virgil believed in enjoying life to the fullest. He and Vincietia Frances belonged to several social clubs and he ran the VFW Hall on St. Louis for a few years in the old Benton Park neighborhood. Virgil had a very strong personality and was known to be quite outspoken at times. He was indeed unforgettable.
Virgil made his transition on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife Vincieita Frances and by his sister Mildred and brother Leroy. He also leaves behind a son George (Janet) Taylor. His three grandchildren, Ingrid, Vincietia, and Georg. His two great-grandchildren Joshua and Tamariq and a host of nieces, nephews, great-neices, great-nephews and other relatives.
