Minister Phillip Lee Buie was born September 29, 1949 to Joseph Buie and Birder Mae (Neal) Buie in St Louis Missouri. He was the sixth child of ten children. Phillip was called home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Jeanette Buie, and two brothers Joseph Buie Jr. and John Buie.
Phillip was united in marriage to Claudia Hawkins and gained four sons. Claudia and two sons preceded him in death. He was a loving husband and father.
Phillip accepted Christ at an early age and continued his walk with God and became an ordained minister. Phillip loved spreading God’s word with his many inspirational emails. He counseled with church members and friends, always providing sound advice in the Word of God.
He received his education in St Louis public schools and attended Forest Park Community College where he earned a degree in mechanical drafting. He was employed at Metropolitan Sewer District and retired after 30 plus years of faithful service.
Phillip loved his family and he was always the jokester at family gatherings. Later he became the family genealogist and loved tracking our family history.
Phillip was loved and cared for by his family as he battled fifteen years of prolonged illness which he later succumbed to.
Phillip leaves behind to mourn his siblings Helen (Leroy deceased) Young, Reita (Nathan) Williams, Wayne (Patricia) Buie, Wendell Buie, Yvonne (Floyd) Brooks, and Melonie Boutte, his sister-law Jackie Buie and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.
