Mr. Charles Houston Jones

Charles Houston Jones was born October 30, 1956 to Charles Houston Jones and Ella P. Hughes in Bessemer, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age where he attended Starlight Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Leon Glover. Later he united with New Bethlehem Baptist Church - Bessemer, Alabama, under the leadership of Reverend William H. Walker where he served faithfully for many years.

Charles was a 1975 graduate of Abraham High School. After graduating from high school, he later joined the United States Army, serving a year and half before being honorably discharged. He then was employed by Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama for many years. He then moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he resided until God called him home. Preceding him in death are his mother, Ella P Hughes; great grandmother, Adell Walker; grandmother, Mammie Hunt; and sister, Sarah Jean Hodge.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  his daughter, Shunita Nicole Williams and son, Charles Santee Phillips; sisters, Linda J. (Rodney) Samuel, Sandra R. Hughes and Barbara A. Hughes; one brother, Rodrick L. (Deborah) Hughes; three nephews, Makhi Hughes, Na’eem Offord, and Alex Lawrence; six nieces, Karli Cameron, Khloe Cameron, Valerie Hughes, Kiosha S.Hughes, Ma’kala Woodall, Telisha Hughes, and host of other relatives and friends.
