Mr. Charles David Mayes

Charles David Mayes (CharlieRedd) was born September 21, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Earl Stevenson and Bessie Mayes. He leaves to cherish his memory one child Charles Micheal Mayes-Ampadu, two brothers, Robert Earl Mayes (Marylin) and Joseph Mayes (one brother who preceded him in death, Micheal Mayes), three sisters Deborah Douglas (Chris), Angela Mayes, and Rochell Mayes (CheeChee), one nephew Christopher Bledsoe, five nieces Shadonna Jefferson, Erica, Daneisha, Camary, and Rashel Bledsoe; his aunts Catherine and Rose, whom preceded him in death, Ex-wife Dr. Clara Ampadu, a close friend of many years Ms. Deborah Estes and a host of friends and relatives.

Charles was a man with a deep voice and uncompromising values. If you knew CharlieRedd, you knew he had no problem letting you know when he was right. If CharlieRedd never got angry with you, your name was Earl, Bessie, or Mike. He spoke his mind and had no problem standing for his beliefs. He was a very orderly man; everything and every person had a place, and if anything or a person was out of order, he had no issue correcting the situation. He was protective of those he loved and demonstrated just that. He enjoyed old movies, music and his quiet time.

He graduated from Mckinley High School and worked for many years on the corporate team of Health Care Management before becoming the Industrial supervisor at Normandy Nursing, from which he retired due to his health.
