A king was born to a granny girl with an old spirit who prospered into a loving mother to him and his five siblings. His name was DeMonta Lewis Robinson, born August 8, 1982 at 3:02 a.m. She gave him her last name for Strength and his father’s middle name so he could be acknowledged as his father’s son.
At the age of twelve, DeMonta landed his first job as a paperboy. He worked with Mr. Kyle for The Post newspaper stand delivering papers to multiple hospitals in the St. Louis area. He then worked for the SLATE Program in the inner city of St. Louis. DeMonta later worked for Saveway in his late teenage years, before working a various factories as he got older. His most recent job was with Lyons Blow Molding Company for over six years as a mechanical technician. He was a hardworking father for his children and more.
He was preceded in death by his great grandfathers Booker T. Shaw and Walter Robinson, great grandmother Nezzie Inez Robinson, grandfathers Cornell Williams and Jimmy Standard, stepmother Marie, God-brother Keaon Stewart, cousin Angela Colvin and loving dog Lucy “Lu” Jones.
DeMonta leves to cherish his memory: eight beautiful children, Izaiah Clark-Robinson (Veronica), DeMonte Jr., DeMya, Desmond, and Desirae Robinson (Chrissi), DeMarion, Tavion, and Daylan Robinson (Tequilla); his mother, Loretta Robinson (Alvin); father, Timothy L. Standard (Tracy); siblings, DeNisha, Adriannm Delvonte, Derrick, and Shawnikwa Robinson, Derricka and Ericka Slaughter, T.J., Tiffany and Tamara Nunley, Phillip and Tenisha; two loving grandmothers, Pamela J. Robinson and Eleanor Moore; aunts, Lavella Theresa Robinson and Cressie Diana Jackson; uncle, Shawn Robinson; great aunt, Gloria Robinson; great uncle, Willie C. Iverson; five nieces and six nephews; special aunts, Regina and Tywyania Hebb, Tamaron Coleman, and Christian Farmer; special brothers, Rufus, John, Doug and Kieth; special cousins, Jeffrey and Lavell Hebb, and Charisse Searcy (Bebe); special friend, Tequilla Hendricks; step-children, Robin and Raven (Chrissi), Tawaun, Douglas, Sonata and Fayonna (Tequilla); and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.
