Mr. Elroy Newton Jr. Obituary

Elroy G. Newton, Jr. was born on March 2, 1968, to the union of Elroy G. Sr. and Bernzella Newton in St. Louis, Missouri. His father preceded him in death.

Elroy gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1976 under the leadership of the late Reverend Solomon Wilson at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.

During his early years, he played youth football with the Matthew Dickey Bulldogs, which trained him in later years to play high school football at Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri. Elroy attended Hazelwood Central High School and continued his education at Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Shortly after being initiated, Passed and Raised in the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of MO and it’s Jurisdictions, he became a member of Square Deal Lodge #159.

Elroy was fun, friendly, outgoing and a conversationalist. He was always interested in learning new things, which led to many of his accomplishments. He was an avid entrepreneur; opening several businesses after college. Many of these include a laundromat, beauty supply store, independent trucking (Global Construction Transport), vending machines, commercial real estate, merchandise, and more. His continued and latest business trademarks were Power Verses, LLC and Global Investments. He will be remembered for his dedication to helping others succeed and passion for his family and friends.

Elroy leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Bernzella Newton; sister, Kimberly Newton; brother, Gary (Koko) Newton; son, Bri’on Sanders; nephews, Clayton Moore III and Caleb Ferguson-Newton; uncle, Terrence Baker; aunts, Sarah Newton and Terhea Jones; special friends Marilyn Webster-Brown (aka Aunt Marilyn) and Lisa Williams; and a host of other cousins, extended family and friends.
