Ferlandas Lowe, affectionately known as Bina, was born on October 18, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the first of five children born to the late Mary Ellen Lowe and Thurman Lowe Sr., both of whom preceded him in death.
Bina was educated in the St. Louis Public School System and attended McKinley High School. At the age of 21, he began his professional journey with the St. Louis Police Department, working in the 3rd District. Beyond his former career, Bina remained devoted to his passion for tuckpointing and painting—crafts he loved and took great pride in.
Bina will be remembered for the love, strength, and harmony he shared with everyone around him. He lived a life of purpose and integrity, always ready with a helping hand or encouraging word. His strong work ethic and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, God welcomed Bina into His Heavenly Home. With grace and peace, he accepted the Master’s hand, though his absence leaves a deep void in our hearts.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong partner, Darline “Baby Doll” Combs-Cherry; his son, Quincey Antwan Loggins; seven siblings—Deortis Lowe, Thurman Lowe, Phillip Lowe, Sheik Fredrico Lowe-Bey, Layla Lowe, Juanemi Haynes (Dele), and Edward Jones; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Bina’s legacy of love, loyalty, and hard work will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
