Mr. Jerome Rodgers Obituary

A TIME TO BE BORN: Jerome Rodgers was born January 26, 1959 to the union of Anthau and Alberta Rodgers in St. Louis, Mo. His name is a Greek word meaning “sacred name.” His Father, Anthau Rodgers Sr; his Mother, Alberta Rodgers; his Brothers, Reginald and Anthau Rodgers Jr.; his Nephews, Timothy Fisher Jr. and Raymond Jr. Smith II; two Great Nieces and Nephews all preceded him in death.

A TIME TO LIVE: Jerome attended school in the St. Louis Public School District where he thrived. Jerome excelled academically and loved beating opponents in a friendly game of chess. Later in life, he started his own business, named “Helping Hands.”

A TIME TO LOVE: Jerome was a compassionate man who enjoyed feeding the homeless anytime he could. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a winning smile and a hardy laugh that would make you laugh with him. He was a man who truly loved his family. His favorite statement and the last thing he would always say before he left your presence was - “Have I told you I love you today? Well, I just did.”

A TIME FOR SERVICE TO GOD: Raised by a praying Christian mom, Jerome knew the word of God. He would quote Psalms 23:4-6 regularly as one of his favorite scriptures.

A TIME TO DIE: Jerome transitioned into his new heavenly home on Thursday, 2-24-22. God sent his Angel to bring him into HIS presence.

A TIME TO MOURN: Jerome leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories: His Daughter, Miesha Rodgers Smith; his Grand Son, De’Aubrey Smith; his Grand Daughter, Antwynette Smith; his Great Granddaughter, Sania Smith; his Siblings, Alicia Smith (Jeffery), Verletta Cole (Arthur), Theoretta Poe (Edward), Alphonso Rodgers (Lori), Princella Potter (Mark), Cassandra Allen (David), Orlando Rodgers (Rosalie) and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
