Mr. Jesse C. Betts Sr.

Jesse C. Betts Sr. was born March 31, 1938 to the union of Bertha Mae Smith and Eddie Betts. He was the first of ten children. His parents; brothers Shank and Eddie Jr.; and sisters Niece, Renae, Irish, and Laura preceded him in death.

He attended Norman School in Point Pleasant, Missouri. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Lily of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Point Pleasant, Missouri. He truly loved the Lord.

Jesse was united in marriage to Betty Carruth on July 1, 1959. They were married for sixty-two years. They moved to Chicago in 1959 and then to St. Louis in 1964, where he worked for the Coca Cola Factory.

He enjoyed fishing and fixing cars, along with that, giving advice. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughter Terrie and his handsome son Jesse, who was with him in his passing from this earthly realm to the heavenly realm; his siblings Mary White (Gene) of Chicago, IL, Edward Johnson (Marsha) of Cape Girardeau, MO, C.J. Johnson (Vera) of Marston, MO, Glenda Buchanan of Lilbourn, MO, Jerome Smith (Vivian) of Marston, MO, Ricky Smith (Lynette) of Cape Girardeau, MO, Carolyn Wilson of New Madrid, MO, Robert Betts of Pontiac, IL and Danny Betts (Amy) of Pontiac, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
