Michael Larnell was born on August 26, 1949, to Freddie and Ida Larnell in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was educated in the East St. Louis public school system where he graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1967.
Michael gave his life to Christ at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois at an early age. Michael joined the military shortly after graduation and was deployed to Vietnam. Upon leaving Vietnam, Michael’s military orders led him to serve in Baltimore, Maryland. After being honorably discharged from the service, Michael began employment with the United States Postal Service in Baltimore. He later returned home to East St. Louis where he met and married Denise Dugger in 1974. To this union two children were born, Tori and Michael J. He relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where he continued his career with the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2008 after forty-two (42) years of dedicated service.
After retirement, he loved picking up his granddaughter after school and spending time with her. He enjoyed fishing, artwork, and traveling with family and friends. Michael was loved by all, he was funny, caring, and had a lovable personality and will be missed by so many.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters, and two brothers. Michael leaves to cherish his memories his children, Tori Palmer and Michael J. Larnell; his granddaughter, Kimora Palmer; two sisters Pearl Washington and Barbara (James) Allen; one brother, Gregory (Brenda) Larnell; his special friend, Bernie Newton, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
