Under this leadership, he served as the Superintendent of Sunday School, member of the Deacon board, and sang in the Men’s and Mass Choir. He was often requested to sing “I’m Free” for the congregation at large. Prior to his death, he attended Salt Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Chaz Jaquess, where he also served on the Deacon board before he became ill.
Robert was a faithful employee of the St. Louis Art Museum for more than twenty years before retiring. He served as one of the Block Captains for the City of Greendale. He had a passion for fishing, bowling (earning several trophies), cooking (seven-cheese macaroni, meatloaf, and sweet tea), and telling jokes along with his Vietnam war tales.
