Ronald Lee Paxton Sr., affectionately known as "PawPaw Ron," passed away suddenly on April 8, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 60. Ronald was born on January 12, 1965, in Saint Louis, Missouri to Ruby (Reed) Paxton and the late Woodrow Paxton,
He is survived by his mother and siblings: Paul Paxton, Jimmy Paxton, Roger Paxton, Tom Sievers, Robert Lucas, Rita Powell (James), Norma Paxton, and Karen Schuchmann (Phil). He loved his family with all his heart.
Ron was a devoted father to Christina Paxton; Ronald Paxton Jr. and his wife Lauryn; and Tabitha Mugridge and her husband David. He was also a special father figure to Tina (Hausmann) Tevik. He loved all his children unconditionally, and in his eyes, they could do no wrong. His greatest success in life was being the best father he could be to his children. Ronald’s love for his children was matched only by the joy he found in being a grandparent. Known to his grandchildren; Julian, Gracie, Kaybree, Caleb, Noah, Connor, Paisley, Michael, Bentlee, Nash, Mikenna and Nova as PawPaw, he was a source of endless delight—especially when it came to sweet treats. A trip to the dollar store or gas station with PawPaw always meant candy and soda were on the menu. His playful and funny side always came out when the grandbabies were around.
Ronald experienced profound loss with the passing of his beloved daughter Jessica Renee Paxton and granddaughter Lilly Renee Mugridge. He was also preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Paxton and siblings Dennis Paxton, Nancy Hausermann and Peggy Ledbetter.
A familiar face at The Auto Place—an auto repair shop owned by his son and daughter-in-law—Ronald was more than just a helping hand; he was an integral part of its daily rhythm. Whether chatting with customers or assisting employees and suppliers, Ronald brought his unique personality and sense of humor to every interaction. His presence at the shop was bigger than life and will be greatly missed.
Ron was often called the “favorite uncle” by his many nieces and nephews and their children. He was always making them laugh with his quirky sense of humor. His many friends loved him and knew they could always count on him for anything. His friendship left a lasting impact on them and will be greatly missed.
Visitation services for Ronald will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral and Cremation Services located at 2842 Meramec St., St. Louis, Missouri 63118.
