Mr. Walter Crigler Jr. Obituary

Walter Lewis Crigler, Jr. was born June 7, 1959, in Saint Louis, MO. He was the first of seven children born to Walter L. Crigler, Sr. and Jewel (Walker) Crigler. Both father (Walter), mother (Jewel), and brother (Tyler Crigler) has preceded him in death.

Walter professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Saint Louis, MO public schools and graduated early from McKinley High School, Class of 1977-78. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on June 4, 1978, where he served as a Sergeant. Walter proudly served his country until 1986 as a Combat Engineer and separated with military honors. During his time in service, Walter married Marquita (Brown) Crigler and to their union two children were born, Walter Marquis Crigler and Angela Crigler.

Walter was employed at the Barges in St. Louis, MO and later became employed with the United States Postal Service as a Postal Carrier/Maintenance Supervisor until retirement. He served proudly for 25 years for the United States Government.

Walter moved to California in 2011 where he met his soulmate, Leticia Coleman. They united in marriage in 2012 in Los Angeles, CA on December 20, 2012. In California, Walter worked for Long Beach Memorial as a Hazardous Waste Technician and with Gulf Stream as a Maintenance Engineer.

Walter loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed making people laugh by playing pranks, telling stories, and giving of himself freely. Walter enjoyed sports where he played for McKinley High School as an “All Star Center” on the high school championship football team. Walter was loved by all those that his life touched. He was just a big loving (Bear); which was his favorite nickname as well as “Maine” given by his family. He will truly be missed.
