Anita Rochelle Fuqua was born October 31, 1967 in Saint Louis, Missouri in the Northwood area to James Burton and Marquentia Davidson.
Anita attended Normandy High School and furthered her education in the medical field.
In addition to her own children, Anita was a mother to her siblings as well. Affectionately known as “Sister”, she always took care of her family.
At a young age, she attended Pure Holiness Church of God in Christ. God later picked and placed “Sister” at Fresh Anointing under the leadership of Bishop Patrick Lampkin and Apostle Michael Lampkin.
In 1986, Ms. Anita Fuqua married the love of her life, Larry James Lay and in this marriage this they had five children: Angelita, Sarah, Omar, Bryonna and Jasmine. God called Anita home on August 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory: the love of her life, Larry James Lay; five children, Angelita Lipsey Johnson Phillip, Sarah Fuqua Williams David, Omar Lay (Lawanda), Bryonna Lay and Jasmine Lay; her father, Horace Baker Jr.; four sisters, Cora Baker-Marco, Katrina Baker Futrell Horace, Yolanda Baker and Erica Baker; two brothers, Kenny Baker and Horace Baker III; seventeen grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
