Archie Mae Smith was born on September 3, 1943 to the late Jodie (Toby) Heard and Gracie Heard in McNeil, Arkansas. She departed this life on April 12, 2020.
At an early age, Archie accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Early View A.M.E. Church. She later married Eddie Lee Smith and to this union four children were born.
Archie is preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Gracie Heard; three sisters, Irma Cornelious, Margaret Heard and Faye Heard; one brother, John Heard; and a son, Eddie Dwayne Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Roy Smith; two daughters, Lisa Askew and Tonga Smith, and a son, Lamont Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Queen Esther McBride and Brenda Heard of Stephens, Arkansas; two brothers, Otis Heard of Stephens, Arkansas and Calvin Heard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, Marcus Ware, Tiffany Smith, Eddie Smith, Jr., Brandon Price, Ashley Smith, Brittany Smith, Ariel Askew and Anthony Gordon; six great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jordan and Ethan Tomlin, Kortee and Kali Ware, Ashton Clemson; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews.other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
