Ms. Louise Loveberry was born on April 3, 1949 in New Herbon, MS to Albert Charles (A.C) and Ora Mae Smith. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 laughing with those who adored her the most.
Louise, or “Lou” as she was affectionally called by her closest friends was educated in the New Herbon and St. Louis Public School Districts. She started her long career in the health care field at Robert Koch Hospital and stayed in healthcare until her retirement in 2007.
She could usually be found playing bingo, watching her favorite shows and movies, and genuinely enjoying retirement. She accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age, and while she did not attend church often, she held deeply to her faith.
She is preceded in death by her father, A.C. Smith; brothers, Earl Lee Payne, Albert Charles “Pig” Smith, and James A. “Jambo” Smith; sisters, Flossie Robinson and Bonnie R. Smith.
Louise leaves to cherish and honor her memory: her mother, Mrs. Ora Mae Smith; her loving daughter, Felicia “Lisa” Smith; four grandchildren Ashley Huggans, Damon Addison (Moriah), Cierra Smith, and Danakita Brown; sister Ella Brown (Dannis); brother, Don L. Smith; and a wealth of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends that became family.
Louise was a woman of few words and much laughter. The memory of her bringing her family and friends together for Sunday dinner, Thanksgiving, and any other food related events will live on through those who love her. Many will remember her for her acts of service but to those who know her best, she was a woman of her word and always spoke her mind.
