Mrs. Patricia Dean Obituary

Patricia Graham-Dean was born January 29, 1944, to Maggie Lou (Hollins) Evans (Zeek Powell) and James Evans Sr. (parents preceded her in death), in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Also preceding her in death her three sons, Sherman & Henry Jr. Graham and Rafael Dean, her husband’s Henry L Graham and Jettie Dean, brothers O.D Hollins, Jethro Hollins, James Evans Jr, George Powell, Fred Lee Powell, Billy Evans Alfred Evans and Rayford Leonard Jr. and sisters Cassie Walker, Rilla Bragg, Louise Lord, Rilla Powell- Jefferson, and Hattie Mae Phillips.

Pat attended St Louis Public schools and graduated from O’Fallon High School in 1960. Pat joined Henry Sr in marriage. She went on to attend Malcom X College in Chicago, IL where she received her nursing license as a LPN. She worked for the Hines VA hospital in Chicago, IL and John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO where she retired as an emergency room nurse. Pat received her Pharmacy Tech certificate and became a care giver after retirement.

Patricia lived her life the way Pat wanted to live it; she was a pistol that fired on all cylinders. She would travel this country one highway at a time. She loved to frequent the casino and she loved her some blues. She had some funny sayings like, I Ride, Rest and Dress, Get Busy, I do it, because I’m used to it. She was serious and funny, but she did not pull any punches. On October 23, 2022 @ 7:02 pm she traveled the last mile of her final journey, she was surrounded by a plethora of family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Tiffany and Daniel Lewis, her great-grand children Deveon, Devontae, Dashaun, Destiny, Dre’von and Dal’mya of Chicago IL, her sisters Annie (Robert) Cotton of Jackson, MS, Elizabeth Watts Vaughn, MS, Henrine Edwards of Carbondale, IL and Willa (Anthony) Dyson and brothers Alfred Evans and Zeke Powell Jr. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. Her close friend next door Miss Betty, friend Ruby, sister in-law Mary of Huston Texas and her great neighbor’s. Her special niece Lois (Chicago), on the spot care givers’ Jackie and DeeDee, Nephew/Son Steven Sampler, she was very fond of all her nieces, nephews and cousins who will keep her Legacy alive.
