Mrs. Susan Gates-Ennett Obituary

Susan Maria Gates- Ennett beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024 at the age of 70. Born on July 8, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Alphonso and Ernestine Gates.

Susan was known for her very strong personality and work ethic. She dedicated her life to educating others whether that was through business or psychology. Her love for education was evident to all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Royce and wife Kaonte, grandchildren, Karter and Kaycee Ennett, and brother Alphonso Gates, and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernestine and Alphonso Gates.

Susan was a shining light in her community and a dedicated professional whose impact was felt far and wide. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she was actively involved in various organizations, including the 100 Black Women Atlanta, and the National Black MBA Association. Her career in Human Resources was marked by excellence and leadership, serving as an HR Manager and later as HR Director at S.I.T.A. Her professional journey also included roles as a Senior HR Consultant at a Private Recruiting Firm, an Adjunct Faculty member at Georgia State University Perimeter College, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Phoenix and Saint Leo University. Her dedication to nurturing talent and shaping the future was truly inspiring.

Beyond her professional achievements, Susan was a passionate Life Coach and HR Consultant for The Ennett Group, where she touched many lives with her wisdom and guidance. Her contributions to the field of Human Resources and education have left a lasting legacy.

Susan is remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to empowering others. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Susan touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
