Ms. Angela Booker Obituary

Angela Darlene Booker was the only child born to Larcelle Booker and Ann Verlena Sulton Booker, on February 10,1967 in St Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her father Larcelle, Aunt Stella, Uncle Curtis Lee Porter, Clarence Bailey (mate of Momma Ann Booker) and Grandfather Manuel Sulton. Angela was better known as Angie B/Booker to all that knew her, and by Life Partner Carl T. (Big Daddy) she was Lil Mama.

Angie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She belonged to Centennial Holyland M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Jefferson (First Lady Shirley Jefferson). Angie was a Christian at heart and prayed constantly. She always had faith that things would continue to get better. She truly loved God and His people.

Angie grew up in University City where she attended Pershing Elementary and University City High, after which she attended Job Corp where she was able to excel. Angie had a knack for styling hair so she attended Cosmetology School where she added to her expertise of hair styling. She was an excellent beautician that slayed when it came to doing hair. Angie was an all-around entrepreneur who had a flare for fashion. She would have been able to blow up with her jewelry selling business if the Lord hadn’t called her home. Angie designed and made her own jewelry, which had become a hot commodity selling like hotcakes!

Angie gave birth to Michael Armstead (Mike Mike) fathered by Lawrence Armstead. on September 26, 1999. Mike Mike has been her pride and joy even before he entered this world. Mike Mike is her twin and has been the man in her life until she met soul mate Carl T. (Big Daddy). They have been her sole reason for continuing this journey.

Angie was a very smart intelligent person who loved life. She kept it real at all times and wasn’t very good at candy coating anything. She loved spending time with friends and family. She was always taking pictures and didn’t care if you didn’t want to, she would snap it anyway. She loved to play cards with anyone and thought she was always supposed to win. In her younger days she indulged in volleyball and could hit a softball or two. Anyone who knows Angie knew she was a force to be reckoned with. That’s probably why she loved watching those gangster movies! She played games on her phone all the time even when she was on the phone you could hear the noise. Music was her thing, she loved music if you ever were on her Live, she always had music trivia.

Even though Angie had these skills she went and got her CDL’s. Angie drove for the St Louis public school system (Laidlaw, First Student and Durham), then she ventured over to Illinois and started driving for Cahokia school district. After driving for over 20 years she decided to go a different route and make a little more money driving for EMT. She drove for them over 3 years until Covid 19. Afterwards she decided on early retirement due to some minor health issues. Over the course of the years Angie at one time struggled with drugs, but she knew this wasn’t a life for her nor Mike Mike so went to treatment and surrendered on June 28th, 2004. She went to Narcotics Anonymous and began working a program of recovery with her sponsor at that time Kim G. On June 28th Angie B. celebrated 18 years clean and when she passed, she was clean of all Mind-Mood altering substances.

The road Angie was on was a beautiful one. She had special people who held her down no matter what. The Love of her Life Carl T. (Big Daddy) was always by her side even at the most frustrating or difficult times. Her bonus sons Cortez Tyler & Kevin McNeal & bonus mom Peggy (Sunshine) never treated her like an in-law because Angie wasn’t an in-law to them, she was & still is family! Her family in Champagne she loved them so much. Her cousins Nicole Porter, Curtis Porter II (Toni), Curtis Porter III & Kaylan and of course we can’t leave out our Wonderful Constantine Evans. Angie talked about her family all the time and how much she wanted to start spending more time with each and every one of them. This has been a heck of a journey and its going to be even harder one without Angie to physically be here. Angie was called home on 09/12/22 @6:35a.m., leaving a lot of people to ask the question why her?

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mom Ann Booker, devoted sons Michael (Mike Mike), Cortez Tyler & Kevin McNeil, life long partner Carl T., bonus mom Peggy, bonus dad Carl Sr., sisters Min. Evelyn, Kim G., Deandra H. (Darvin), Felicia J., Patty K. (Dewayne K.), Cassandra B., Darla J., Ann P., Ida G., Ann (Big Ann), Tarhonda I. (John John), Ima R. (L.B. R.) & a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her NA family.
