Ms. Beverly Akridge Obituary

Beverly Kay Akridge was born on September 7, 1970, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Pamela Karen Akridge. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Bev was preceded in death by her beloved mother Pamela Karen Akridge, her brother James Akridge, a dear furry nephew Stormy Akridge, and a very special friend, Deshaun Brown Sr.

She completed her education at Cahokia Senior High School in Cahokia, Illinois. Bev had a heart for helping others and dedicated over 11 years of her life to working with individuals with disabilities at Caring Solutions. Her compassion and dedication made a lasting impact on those she served.

Bev was known for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and generous heart. She never missed a chance to offer a kind word, share encouragement, or express how proud she was of others. Her presence brought joy and comfort, and she will be remembered as one of the sweetest and most loving souls you could ever meet.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two beloved children, Deshaun Brown Jr. and Savion Brown, and five precious grandchildren whom she adored: Nariah McWilliams, Jael Brown, Savonna Brown, Azeal Brown, and Samirah Brown.

Bev is also survived by her loving sister Nicole Akridge; two devoted brothers, Phillip Akridge (Dominique) and Demond Harper; and a cousin who was like a brother, George Whitton. A special God-Sister; Ernisha Roberts. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews: Alicia Howard (Antonio), Ashley Hobbs (Denzel), James Akridge III (Hilary), Jeremy Akridge, Phoenix Akridge, Egypt Akridge, Phillip Akridge Jr., Nile Akridge, and  Cloudy Akridge. Her legacy continues through her great-nieces and nephews: Nevaeh Howard, Alanah Howard, Brooklyn Howard, Brandon Minor Jr., Carmen Akridge, Antonio Howard Jr., Audynn Hobbs, Draysen Hobbs, and Violet Akridge.

Beverly also leaves behind countless close friends and coworkers who will miss her deeply.

Her life was a testament to kindness, love, and the beauty of a giving heart. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
