Carla Monique Charles, born on April 30, 1966, to Barry (preceded in death) and Martha Charles in Izmir, Turkey. On January 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family, Carla peacefully transitions from this world. As the second of seven children, she brought a unique light and love to her siblings', nieces and nephew’s lives. Carla received her education in the St. Louis County School System and dedicated over 29 years to serving as a school educator and administrator in the St. Louis City School System, leaving an enduring impact on countless students.
Carla's early journey led her to embrace Christ, becoming a beacon of faith for those around her. Also, Carla's early years were marked by the enchanting notes of the clarinet, where her musical prowess garnered numerous awards. Her passion for music extended across genres, from classical to rock and roll, and R&B. Later in life, she found solace in the pages of books and delighted in spending quality time with family, especially while preparing her famous pancakes.
Carla is survived by her mother, Martha Charles, and siblings Renne Charles, Creighton Charles, Quentin Charles, Lawerence Charles (Tracey), and Camille Charles. She also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
As we bid farewell to Carla Monique Charles, let us remember her as a dedicated educator, a talented musician, and a beloved family member whose warmth and kindness will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
