Ms. Dorothy Dampier Obituary

Our precious sister, aunt, and friend, Dorothy Jean Dampier passed away on October 6, 2022.  She was born on July 11, 1945, in Fargo, AR, to Lorenza Ransom and Willie Nell Hill who preceded her in death.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Christian Faith.  Dorothy attended and graduated from O’Fallon Technical High School.

Dorothy was known to her family and many friends as being a very classy lady!  She was caring and loving to all she knew, and had a big heart for cats and animals.

Dorothy was a dedicated, hard worker with a long career as a Flight Attendant with TWA and later American Airlines.  In January 2022, she decided to retire and enjoy life traveling and spending time with her cats, family, and friends. Anyone who knew Dorothy knew that she loved her wine (smile) and cats (Sonny and Aubrey). They were her world! Dorothy did not have children, but she had a great love for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.  She was an active member of the St. Louis Chapter of CHUM’s Incorporated.  She enjoyed going to the gym (YMCA) and her weekly golf and piano lessons over the past few years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her Stepfather, Samuel Hill; Brother, Myron Hill; Step Brothers, Lewis and Claud Hill; Sister-in-law, Patricia Hill; Brother-in-law, Arthur Bruce; and Niece, Carmen Hill.  She will be cherished and remembered by her dear brothers, Ronald Hill and Michael Ransom (Karen); Sister Y. Denise Bruce; Special Sister-in-Law/Friend, Valiere Hill; nieces, LaTonya Hughes (Ira), Yanez LaShay Hill-Woods (Vincent), Nickie Severado, Yanina Montgomery (Theodore), Stacy Ransom, Kuleya Bruce and Casey Covington; nephews, Ronald Hill Jr. (Kaylie), Dana Ransom, Kenneth Nutt (Michelle), and Vincent Nutt (Leslie); great nieces, great-nephews, great great niece, a host of other relatives and close family and friends.  She will be missed dearly.
