Linda (Pookie) S. Ford was born December 5, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri to Margaret L. Wiley. She departed this life on June 21, 2023.
She attended Blewitt Middle School and subsequently graduated from Soldan High School in 1967 Linda immediately went to work for the Federal Government-Veteran Administration Division wherein she was employed for a period approaching 35+ years. Performance was exemplary during this tenure, as evidenced by a myriad of credited certifications, with retirement occurring in year 2013.
Linda loved working around the home in recent years. Particularly, the outside landscaping area with installation of decorative ornaments, colorations, and during Christmas ensuring that the inside and outside were appropriately reflective of season. Her targeted pride of inheritance was a complete “Naivety Collection” bestowed by a close friend. Plus, Linda was an excellent dancer as known by her family and friends.
She accepted God at an early age and vigorously pursued Him [Jeremiah 29:13, Psalm 69:32], and acted on biblical principles, throughout her life. Linda’s Daily Word Collection was extensive. Certainly, a disciplinarian.
Church activities was her “center’, it grounded her, and she loved a spirited, clear Word from the pulpit. She met many acquaintances through this avenue and with several being deemed as close friends.
Linda was proceeded in death by her mother Margaret Wiley, and her sister Georgina Wiley. She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 brothers [Walter Wiley, Willie Wiley] ;A son[ Chancellor Wiley]; As well as a host grandchildren ; great grandchildren, nephews ; nieces, cousins, aunts & uncles.
