Ms. Vera Brew-Staples Obituary

Vera Doris Brew-Staples (Bee-dee) was born April 4,1951 in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was born to the proud parents Lillie Brew- Townsend and Marshall Brew. She was the oldest of ten children and the mother figure to all her siblings. She was preceded in death by her mother Lillie, father Marshall, one brother James Marshall, one sister Lavada, one grandson Patrick Jr., and two nephews Edward III and Juwon.

Doris professed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Tommy Mosley of the New Berean M.B. Church. Doris had a beautiful voice. She would often sing solos at church, even when she didn’t want to.

Doris attended St. Louis Public Schools. She received her GED. She also graduated with her Associate's degree from Forest Park Community College majoring in Administration. She worked 30 plus years in the office administration field. She worked for Children’s Hospital, One Bell, Advance Loans, and a list of other companies.

Doris was a strong and fearless person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her ex-husband Phillip. She was small in stature but big at heart. She loved to laugh and crack jokes. She was one of one.

Doris was called into the presence of our Lord on November 5, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children Lillian, James Orvell (Lori), Rachel, her birthday twin Renoda (Maurice); her siblings Vincent Sr., Hyland, Tequilla, Cornelius (Roxanne), Alfred, Rhondia, and Corwin; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; her forever and a day love Phillip; favorite niece Octavia, favorite nephew BooBoo, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
