Yolanda Dean was born in Saint Louis, Mo on Thursday, May 5, 1966 to the union of Joseph and Gelilla Dean, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the oldest of 4 children born to this union.
Yolanda was a warm, loving, and vibrant spirit. She cared deeply for the lost and less fortunate. She often gave of herself and her resources whenever she saw a need, never seeking attention or accolades. She had a love for life and the things of God. A servant's heart, her many years serving in various ministries and prayer lines, serving in street ministry and giving others hope.
She also served her country by joining the army with campaigns in Operation Desert Storm. After her enlistment she served in government positions including Huntsville Alabama and The Pentagon.
Yolanda attended St. Elizabeth Academy where she earned her high school diploma. She was also a lifelong learner continuing her education and receiving a Bachelor’s degree from Strayer University and a masters degree at Averett University. She continued to take classes and earn certifications.
Yolanda enjoyed living her life to the fullest. An avid world traveler and food aficionado, she loved to try and experience new things and places. She and her friends were known as the “Traveling Divas”. She enjoyed live music! She would travel the country to enjoy concerts and meeting the artists (Jazz and Gospel).
Yolanda also known as "YoYo" and "Yogi" was highly impactful, respected and loved by her family, friends and church and she will be greatly missed. Her love for her family ran deep. She was always thankful for the foundation laid by her grandparents and reinforced by her parents, aunts and uncles (Winston’s and Dean’s).
Yolanda’s memory will forever be cherished by her son Redarin Dean (LaQuesha), brothers Joseph Terez Dean (Felicia) and Keith L. Dean (Veronica), sister Aurielle Dean-Jackson, bonus sister Latonya Austin (Michael), aunts Marvis Winston-Brandy and Valarie Jones (Ernest), uncle Latour Winston (Veronica), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
